SLT Construction Corporation

Flexible, solar-powered site surveillance ideal for monitoring equipment yard

CHALLENGE:
Securing Heavy Equipment in the Yard without Power or Internet

SLT Construction Corporation has grown over the past 30 years to become one of the largest site work contractors on the Massachusetts South Shore.

SLT Construction has a fleet of more than 50 excavation and earth moving vehicles. Security of the vehicles in the yard was a major concern. The SLT team had installed CCTV cameras on the building, but these did not provide good visibility into the yard, and did not make it easy to track vehicles and visitors coming and going from the yard entrance.

Solar/wireless site cameras are ideal for securing heavy equipment.
“The motion-detection feature allows us to capture images and generate events when vehicles enter or leave the facility. The camera includes built-in battery backup, and night-vision capabilities so we can operate it 24/7. The camera is small and light enough we were able to mount it right on the Quonset hut near our entrance.”

TURNKEY SOLUTION

Complete end-to-end solution
Camera hardware, cellular data connectivity, cloud-hosted servers, and ease of use software are all provided in one complete package.

Solar-powered, LiFePO4 Batteries
No on-site power required. System is energized by the sun and powered at night by a lithium ion phosphate battery pack. Camera can run on battery power for up to 5 days.

Real-time, remote monitoring
Leverage robust remote surveillance and monitoring to ensure safety and productivity when you can’t be on-site.

Sensera Systems SiteWatch-PRO was easily mounted on the yard’s Quonset hut to monitor movement in and out of the yard.
SOLUTION:
Solar/wireless site security for equipment and laydown yards

SLT Construction set out to find a solution, searching the internet and talking to local camera experts. They found Sensera’s SiteWatch-PRO camera a good fit for their requirements.

SiteWatch-PRO monitors the SLT yard 24/7 with all of its power generated by the sun and built-in battery backup.

“There is no power at the Yard entrance that we wanted to monitor, so the solar/battery powered Sensera Systems SiteWatch-PRO camera was a good fit for our needs. The motion-detection feature allows us to capture images and generate events when vehicles enter or leave the facility. The camera includes built-in battery backup, and night-vision capabilities so we can operate it 24/7. The camera is small and light enough we were able to mount it right on the Quonset hut near our entrance,” said Terry Edwards, Project Manager SLT Construction Corp. “This is the first time we have installed a camera of this type. The service and tech support that the Sensera team provided to help us configure and setup the camera has been tremendous! We have been very happy with the Sensera SiteWatch-PRO camera system.”

SiteWatch PRO

Dual cameras with night vision
SiteWatch-Pro includes an 8MP color imager for day/ambient light situations, and a high-powered white or IR LED-based illuminator for night monitoring.

Robust surveillance at remote sites

long-range PIR motion detection
A high-quality Optex long-range PIR sensor for motion detection provides motion detection at over 100’ from the camera.

The motion detector feature of SiteWatch-PRO captures images and generates events whenever a vehicle enters or leaves the facility.
