First Interstate Bank: First Interstate Bank — Solar Wireless System Simplifies Remote Site Management and Collaboration

THE SITUATION

First Interstate is a $32 billion community bank headquartered in Billings, Montana. With more than 300 offices across 14 states, First Interstate Bank has a robust construction schedule, completing 15 to 20 projects annually varying from 2,500 sq ft to 6,000 sq ft in size.

THE CHALLENGE

With so many concurrent projects across such a vast area, First Interstate Bank wanted the ability to remotely monitor jobsites, provide convenient stakeholder collaboration, and capture images and time-lapse video for marketing their new locations.

In the past, First Interstate Bank’s corporate construction group would only meet with project teams on critical milestones, as meeting in person could sometimes mean an 18 hour drive. This placed construction managers in one of two scenarios. Either they are super involved and the travel budget is huge, or they are completely off-site and need to rely on technology to successfully work remotely to eliminate inflated travel budgets.

THE SOLUTION

Corporate Construction Manager Seth Morgan tested and selected Sensera Systems as First Interstate’s camera technology solution provider. “It was important to be able to share and collaborate with other stakeholders,” said Morgan. “We always share the project camera’s public URLs with our stakeholders and they use them for weekly meetings and collaboration. These cameras absolutely meet our project needs.”
